What's up ya'll-

I'm dropping in a XR400 Cam to run with my 426. Will I need to change the stock springs? The machine shop reccomended that I get an RD Valve Spring kit because the "grind" is different than stock.

Any thoughts on this?

Thanks

Brian

When I installed my HRC cam (basically a OEM upgrade for the xr400), I put it a new set of honda valvesprings, which is what the people at service honda recomended. When you put in something new in the valve train, all contacting surfaces to the replaced part should proabably be replaced, or at least inspected. I've heard to always replace the springs with new ones for good measure.

na you dont need any spring's ....remove the comp release mecanisim and make sure you install the cam with the lobs facing down and the timming marks lined up and install will be a snap.

Don't remove the compresion realease. It's only make it harder on the starter. I suggest paying a few extra bucks for the springs. All you've got to loose is some reliablity.
