I am in the middle of removing my rear brake, just wondering what is the best way of plugging brake line, or does anyone know the size of the thread where the rubber line meets the steel line......Any help would be great..thx.

Are you disconnecting the brake line for a reason. Like splitting
the lines or what? If you are just changing to a braided line or
something then I would just let the fluid drip into a container.
You have to bleed the system anyway! I don't know the thread size but
I do know that it takes a 3/8 flared end wrench to seperate the rubber
hose from the brake tubing. And they are torqued together real good!

I am removing my rear brake mainly because everytime I ride I need to adjust it, & very rearly use it anyway. Also my nerfs get quite close to the linkage.(Main prob I have is all the trail races I have the marshals state that rear brake must work well.
I will try to find a split brake kit for it...(But after reading a few forums I dont like my chances)...On a split brake kit does the rotor go on the rear axle????

The only change when you split the lines is where the fluid
comes from. I just finished splitting mine myself. I got a
brake "T" from NAPA auto parts. A tub flaring tool and re-used
all the line that was used for the rear brake. I cut and
re-bent the lines. So, now I have the same two lines that
went to the rear brake as before but now the foot peddle provides
all the power. So far, so good!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
