Sealed wheel bearings for 2x4
#1
I spend alot of time in the water on my machines and as a result, one of my front wheel bearing sets is shot on my 1994 300 2x4. Can anyone recommend an upgraded sealed bearing as opposed to buying one at the dealership? I read that the standard Polaris front wheel bearings are not sealed. Is this true?

I do not know if the Polaris wheel bearings are sealed or not, But I just
replaced the front bearing on my Wolverine, and they were not sealed.
Factory on this quad are not sealed. I took the bearing to a local Bearing
Dist, and asked he he could get these bearings, but sealed, he even had them in stock.. I paid 15.00 each for sealed bearings,, Cheaper than dealer
cost on bearing that were not sealed...If you can get the number of of the
bearing there is a good chance a Bearing Dist. will have or can get them..

use bearings with a seal on one side and put the seal side to the out side. then drill and tap the hub for a grease fitting and keep the hub full of grease. i did this to all my 2 wheel drive quads and i never had to change a front wheel bearing. this will also work on dirt bikes as that where i first did this. use a waterproof grease like boat trailer wheel bearing grease.
