just broke in my new 400ex and got my advice from a guy who 'everyone' says broke in his quad well... basically:

1) ride 20 minutes, cool down, repeat! (alot)
2) at first, don't rev too high but don't baby it either
3) don't stay at same rpm alot
4) after a bit ride it harder
5) then, ride it like you are going to ride it after it's broken in
6) if you don't have the confidence/experience to ride it balz out after it starts getting broken in, let a TRUSTED friend get on it and ride the h*ll out of it.
7) very important you don't forget to stop and cool off the motor!!!!

my new quad runs great by the way and I did everything i just mentioned including letting a better rider open it up more than I could in the dunes

Hit a nice big 75' double with your factory shocks lowered all the way down, (softer), and that will break er' in real fast! lol

When i broke my quads in i done exactly what all my buddies told me to do, they all said brake it in how your gonna ride it, they said if your gonna ride hard all the time, then brake it in riding hard, and if your someone that putts around then brake it in puttin around. They say it is best on an engine to be run the same way all the time...................but i really dunno, im just going by their advice!

my4traxhas3wheels:

Do us all a favor and get your immature @$$ off this forum, or grow up. This forum was made to help out people with their quads, and for people to feel free to ask questions. BomBanshee asked a very important question, and you made a totally IMMATURE and wasteful post. How old are you man.. I mean, boy! 10, 11? Quit wasting your energy and our time if you are going to continue posting messages of this nature.

Simple as this: Grow up or get out.
