you need to bleed the brakes by having someone hold the brake lever in and release the bleedvalve located on the top of the caliper one at a time. repeat until allof the air is out of the brakes. It is inportant that you dont release the brake lever wile the valve is open or it will draw in more air. hope this helps.

It's a pretty easy procedure, jack up the front, take off the front wheels,( not necessary, but makes it a lot easier.) locate the bleed screws on the front calipers (should have a rubber cap over it) squeeze the front brake lever and open the left front one first, watch for any bubbles in the fluid. close the screw, then let up on the lever, repeat until it looks clear, then move to the other side.Keep an eye on the level on the resivoir on the handlebar, or you will suck in more air!! after the right side is bled, the brakes should feel a lot firmer, if not repeat the whole thing over until it does. After a couple of times, if it is still not firm, you may have a caliper or master cylinder problem. Be sure not to get the brake fluid on the brake pads, and have a can of brake parts cleaner to clean off all the parts when you are done. I have used a small hose over the bleed screw to put the fluid in a jar to cut down on the mess. Good luck with your project, may help to have a second person to pull the brake lever while you bleed it.
