The March issue of 4-wheel ATV Action has an evaluation of a Duncan Racing pipe for the DS650. The low end gains are very impressive (over 10HP) and the mid range gain is good to (near 10HP). However, there is no high end gain. The pipe appears to be a "woods" type pipe similar to the Duncan pipe for the 440EX woods racer in last months issue. Personally, I want gains all across the board, including the high end. Ron Wood Racing seems to be ahead of the gang on performance mods, so I will go with his stage one kit this month.

I've been holding out for more testing on DS650 performance mods, so I haven't bought my pipe yet. I am impressed with the low end gain of the double barrel pipe from Duncan. They say the top end can be improved with carb mods. Unfortunately, it doesn't look like the pipe will be available any time soon. The pipe used in the magazine review was only a prototype and not necessarily the final design. Duncan says it may not be available until this summer. Oh well. I doubt I can wait that long for some low end power.
