Rubicon Crash Question
#1
If you own a Rubicon is the front end like paper?
First crash, I was hit a tree of a trail when I had to bail. $2000 to fix it.
2nd crash, Hit a friends Magnum 325 2x4 going 5-10mph, threw me off almost totaled mine. While he got a scratch on his Grill. $3000 to fix it.
I read some post here where the guy said his fell of a mountain and had to only buy a new Speedo. A speedo is the only thing I have not replaced on my Rubi.

That's odd. There have been two seperate occasions when my recon has rear-ended a 400ex of a friend (once by me at about 6mph, and another by a friend going 4th gear pinned). The damage: 2 dents in the brush guard, and a slightly tweaked front rack.

I can not bring myself to think this is true. I hit another quad that had come to almost a complete stop going around 20-25 mph on my rubi. It did break the weld where the rack is mounted to the front bumper and drove the bumper (on the right side) into the plastic. I had to put the winch cable around a tree and hook it to the bumper to pull it out since my oversize tires were rubbing the relocated plastic. I later rewelded the bumper bracket and straighted the rack. I agree that the foreman 450 has a stronger bumper system, but $2000-3000??????? I would like to see the parts/labor breakdown on those repairs. May $200-300 would be more realistic. I would like to see Honda offer a stronger bumper/rack system for the Rubi, even as an extra cost item, but I think you are trying to stir the pot, so to speak with this story. Forgive me if I am wrong, but if I am, please post the aforementioned breakdown of repair costs that got you to $3000.00 from a low speed collision.

I gotta agree with the other guys... let's see the pics. The claim is a little blown up or your dealer is ripping you off. The tree thing maybe, but the 5-10 mph bump - no way. I was going through mounds of plowed snow when it turned out that one of the mounds was actually pushed up to a pile of lumber. Hit it straight on at at least 10-15. Somehow managed to stay on, but the only damage was a scratch/dent in the Ruby's plastic brush guard - no breakage even in cold weather.
