Rubicon Crash Question
#12
I hit my rubicon against a tree. and the front bumper folded like nothing. I bent the front bumper into the plastic. the plastic was bent the headlight was bent down. and the tire was rubbing the plastic. i took my tow strap fot the quad hooked it up to the bumper and a tree. put it in reverse and punched it. after about two or three pulls it was like new. just re weld the rack to make it stronger and your good to go.

I was going through the woods and hit the front wheel of my Rubicon in a tree going 5mph and I bend the front wheel 22 degrees out.
My old Honda 300 hit trees and rocks going 20 mph and didn’t bend a thing
What are the Rubicons made from ?

Honda must know about the problem, they demanded my frame back for inspection when I had mine replaced under warrenty this summer after my uppper A arm mount bolt pounded and ripped its way threw the frame mount from being untorqued from the factory...actually it was over tightened and the nut was stripped out causeing it to be loose. 400 mile later I was hereing a clunk on every bump and horrable handeling!

I have had three major accidents on my Rubicon, the last one was a end-over flip down the side of a steep mountain. It flipped an estimated 12 times before coming to rest. It bashed the headlight/speedo pod and beat the racks up. Also it bent the steering column. Parts & labor was about $600.00. I mean to tell you, this was a violent, brutal beating the Rubicon took, and it only suffered minor damage. It is the toughest quad I've ever seen. I can't speak for any head on collisions, but I find a $3,000 repair bill unbelievable under any circumstances.

My neibors stepfather head on'd a pickup at considerable speed, that totaled a quad. Hell of a way to go too, he was 92 years old. Your repair bills sound suspisious, was the for cleaning the mud off with a toothbrush too, maybe a restoration to new condition rather than 'fixed'? It is possible to cause greater damage with the same crash with say a rubi than an older 300. This is because parts are higher, the quad bigger, the quad is heavier, the quad has more power, links and suspension parts are longer(read more fragile) and you were probably going faster than you believe.
