My RAptor Is Spiting and sputtering Help!~
#1
Today I was riding my Raptor and I noticed
when I would come out of a turn and dump the clutch and go to second
it would spit sputter and a little back fire?
once it got past this it would rev on out.
Any ideas Guys? could my carb boots be coming off?

CHECK YOUR BOOT'S. ALSO IF YOU PUT A JET-KIT IN, YOU MIGHT WANT TO LOOK UNDER THE DIAPHRAM LID WHERE THE TINY SPRING GOES ON TOP OF THE NEEDLE .MY WASHER AND LITTLE SPRING WAS SITTING IN THE DIAPHRAM WITH THE BIG SPRING. JUST MY EXPERIENCE.

mine was spitting and sputtering in turns and steep decline. even some jumps. it was the hose off the "T" shaped connector that connects the carbs. i looked everywhere. then i was cleaning my filter and noticed the hose was creased. the hose can easily be seen when you remove the air box lid. the hose kinda makes a "S" route. i hope you figure it out ad it's not expensive. i was cranking mine so much that now i believe the one way clutch bearing on the starter is going out.

Does this happen every time you turn the bars or occasionally?
Check your cables (throttle and choke) to make sure no binding is occuring. Turn the bars and see if the cables are not moving the carbs and make sure the choke is'nt opening up (both have happenned to me).
Next, If you have installed a DYNO-JET kit or messed with the needles, take MEAN1's advise.....this has happenned to me as well.
Next, check for potential contaminants/particles in the carbs.
