I just noticed a little bit of surface rust on my fatties today...

I tried cleaning with degreaser but did not work...

I feel steel wool would fix this but would it scrach up my pipes ??????

How do you guyz take care of this ???????

I'd be interested to hear what people have to say about this, since I have the same problem. What's weird is only one pipe rusts. I used steel wool to clean mine, so now it's a little more dull than the other pipe. But at least it looks better than the rust.

jfboy,
Where does yours rust at?
Mine rusts right were it says FMF fatty.

This is how I clean mine and I have had no rust in 2 years of use. Every month I use mothers polish to clean it up which will take off any surface rust and tarnish that may have started. After every cleaning I spray WD-40 on a rag and wipe it down. My pipe still looks 85% like new with no visibal rust or tarnish.

I think that FMF makes a spray on pipe cleaner. I'm not sure if it will help with the rust though.

Your right about the coke, ball up some alum. foil and dip it in the coke and rub. this will take rust off of any chrome and will NOT scratch it. Periodicaly rinse with water so it isn't sticky.
