Dif Lock Modification for the AC 250 & 300
#1
I just wanted to pass on a bit of info I gleaned from one of the local Arctic Cat/Suzuki dealers here in Anchorage.
Keep in mind I have not tried this, I am only passing on information:
Supposedly, the setup for the AC 250 & 300 is identical to that of the Suzuki. As a result, you can purchase the cable for a Suzuki King Quad and put it on the AC 300. That will give you the three positions, 2WD, 4WD, & 4WDLock.
Has anyone tried this??

I have done this on my sons 01 250, I didn't buy anything though. You can turn the lever that selects 2-4wd one or 2 notches and have 2,4&4wd lock. It works great and turns these quads into a very capable machine, leaving many behind in the rough stuff. I will add that for the 250 you must have the 2-4wd shift lever.

I found this on a previous thread. It is what I used to do mine and it worked great.
You have to modify the cable that goes to the diff in the front. there is a collar over the wire where it attaches to the lkever on the diff. i took a pipe cutting tool and cut off about a .5 inch of the collar. this gives the addtional travel you need. then you nned to fabricate a new bracket the hang the wire from near the diff. i just used some old sheet metal i had laying around. the lever on the diff needs to be taken off and reattached so all the positions on the diff can be attained by moving the lever to each of the 3 positions (top 2wd -in middle 4wd- bottom 4wd LOCK) you'll have to play with the wire adjusters to get the most travel from the wire. Keep in mind that after you cut off the collar and you select 2wd, the handle on the fender will stick out about a .5 inch more and you will see the wire core from the cable.
