IMS440 sleeve install question/ piston question
#1
I just recieved my IMS440 kit. (gotta love those IMS440 stickers, they will match my Maier race cut plastic and graphics perfectly!!)
Heres my questions.
When I take my cylinder and sleeve to a machine shop, are they going to know what to do with these numbers? (in the instructions)
"Finish boring is required, the recommended piston to cylinder clearance is .002.
Measure clearance .500 from bottom of skirt.
Recommended end gap for the rings is .015."
Question 2. There is an arrow on the JE piston. This arrow points to the exhaust side, correct?
Thanks for any advise. -Matt

Any competent machine shop should know what to do with those numbers. If they don't, then find another.
You're correct about the arrow.
While your engine is apart, have the head ported by someone who knows what they are doing. The stock Honda head can be opened up quite a bit. An aftermarket cam (ie - WebCam) will go a long ways to helping wake up the motor.
