Buying a Grizz 660
#1
Can anybody give me a heads up on the new grizz. I am thinking about getting rid of my SP500 and getting a grizz. I have read everything I can find on the new grizz but there's nothing like first hand info from someone who owns one.
Also I plan on putting winch on it and snow plow. does anybody have any feedback on these items. As far as how do they mount and how functional they are on a grizz. My SP500 works great with these attachments.

Personally, I love mine. I haven't found any real faults with it so far. I have not had ANY of the problems you read about in the forums. The only comments I have had from buddies I have let ride is that the suspension is mushy, and the brakes are not overly responsive. The brakes is just a matter of adjusting them as far as I am concerned, but I don't have a problem with them so I have not bothered to do so. The suspension is pretty soft, but I have not bottomed it out or anything. I also took off my sway bar so that attributes to a little body roll, but again it doesn't bother me. I did crank up my shock preloads to offset the removal of the sway bar and I am happy with it.
As far as winch, I have the Warn 2000 with the Cycle Country mount. Works great, my only issue is that it is so low on the body, it is always packed with snow or mud. I haven't had any functional issues with it as a result of that though. I also have the Warn Plow that you get as the package deal from Yamaha. I am very happy with that also. Remove two hitch pins and disconnect the winch cable from the shieve on the plow and it is off. I am very impressed with the plowing abilities of the Grizz as well. Just yesterday I plowed 8 - 10 inches of very wet snow here and it was not problem at all. A couple weeks ago I did my cabin driveway with a foot and a half of powder, and again no problem. Hope this helps.

All I can say is you will be one happy camper with the new Grizz. You're already used to a good ride, good clearance, good power. The Grizz is just like that buy done in a little bigger way. I have a warn winch on mine, it is what I consider a "must" for any quad, and will be getting a plow, but haven't yet.
If you have any specific questions, don't hestitate to ask.

Like Hoars Nest, I like this machine a lot and it's snow clearing capabilities are fantastic.
As far as the plow and winch go, I have a warn 2500 and I got the incentive Warn plow (48"
and it works like a champ. It's easy to adjust the angle (I don't even have to get off of the machine) and when you hit a rock or something immovable, it bends over like it's supposed to without a hitch. It's also easy to take on and off....
The only downside are the plow mounting brackets. They are right below the foot pegs and are the lowest point on my machine- so, I will be taking off the mount as soon as the season is over- kind of a pain.
Do you have the deluxe plow mount for your SP? The one where the hinge attaches to where that trailer ball would go? To me, that seems to be the best set-up.
