to answer your question, I have never done this myself (on the raptor anyway)....but here's a direction to pursue. If vise grips aren't cuttin it, try to spray some wd-40 or crc on the bolt to allow it to penetrate. Take a drill and let the bit cut a flatspot on each side to all the vise grip to grab a flat spot. Or use a file to do the same. If still no luck, you may have to drill it out. Just use a small enough bit that you don't do any damage to the threads in the housing. Hope this provokes your though process.

Don't know what the technical name of the tool is, but we call it a backout. A regular drillbit drills in the tightening (Clockwise) rotation. This is a drillbit that drills in the loosening(counterclockwise) rotation. When you drill into the bolt, it digs in and loosens the bolt out. I had to use this when i broke the bleeding nipple of the brakes. It is very cheap, comes in any size you need, and bought from most any auto store. If you get one, just make sure you drill it in straight or it will break when it starts turning the bolt.

Dude, I pity you !! I have also done this and tried everything to get it out, PB blaster, heating it and waxing it, slotting it for a screwdriver, and trying to left hand drill it out but their isn't quite enough room to get in there straight. Nothing worked, So I ended up taking out the axle and cutting the end in the swing arm off with a torch and drilling a new hole beside it and put in a helicoil insert. Hope you have better luck then I did!! I have since never seized all that I service.
