My 95 has an aftermarket front bumper on it. the winch im mounted on a plate right behind the bumper so the cable would come out just above the bumper. A friend of mine has a Grizzly with his mounted real low to the ground. Great for pulling power, but a pain to get to especially if you're stuck in deep mud. I'll keep mine mounted right where it is. It's basically mounted where most pickup trucks have them mounted. There can't be too much of a problem with it.

My buddy and I each have a 01 Wolvy, and he just installed a winch (Superwinch). He ordered the mount from Cabela's and it came with the fairlead. I personally will get the Warn, but the mount is great. It gives you an extension for the oil cooler, as it has to be re-located. It was about a three hour job, and the winch is inside the front bumper and has no effect on ground clearance. Hope this helps, as they do sell the mount separately if you want it.
