So that means that you are running a 185 Mikuni and Kyle is running a 195 Dynojet and you are actually richer? Interesting and good to finally know.

wow. That means my 175 DJ mainjet is actually smaller than the 165 Mikuni I took out. And Skyler's Raptor, which had 140/145 Mikuni jets, and now has 142/144 DJ's is smaller also. This is despite HMF slip-ons with quiet cores (modified by yours truly) plus I have a K&N and Skyler's airbox is opened up, but without any extra holes. Now the Raptor was running pretty rich till we put the HMF on, then it seemed to need more gas, running better with the choke on. Since the rejet, just last week, it seems to be doing fine. We are at 4,300 ft. elevation and ride above 6,000 mostly, so that could be what's going on, the mods have equalized out with the elevation. I should try a 180.

Yeah, I have been pondering on this main jet thing for awhile. It didn't make much sense until I saw the differences on the chart. Now it's alot clearer to me, this info brought the jetting thing into perspective for me.I saw so many inconsistencies in main jet sizes with similar modded machinces on the forum and the guys that I have ridden with, hence the "confusion" !

Later,

Steve

That's some great info Butfungus. I had heard years ago that it was a difference of 10 between the Dynojet jets and the Mikuni jets, but it's nice to have the exact #'s and an explanation as to why.
