Favorite 300EX Mods

Well I have two of these machines and this is what I have done to both of them. I think that you will find thse the most popular mods to the 300EX.
FMF pipe, K&N Filter with Skinz, Re jetted to 125's, Opened air box with a set of six 1" filters. Replaced the air tube with one from a 350X. Same as the EX except a bit larger inside allowing even more air through. Under $300 a machine for all of the above.
This allows the 300 to really breath and quite frankly unleashes it! Your jetting will be different as I run at high altitude to extream altitude.
I have works shocks on one of these machines and WOW! they do make a big difference in feel and handeling! But they are not a cheap add on. My son broke a shock so I choose to replace with these. I also have a twist throttle on one machine, personal preference.
We also run in the hills from woods to open trails. Some sand and about anything else mountain country can throw at ya.

Hey Darrin,
I was looking at putting 400EX a-arms on a 300EX a while back and all of the measurements look great for fitting them on except for one:
The distance between the upper a-arms bracket holes (left to right facing the quad) is around 3/4" shotrter on the 300EX (as far a I can remember).
Did this make the wheels lean in hard on top?
Did you notice any binding of the ball joints?
Did you use the stock 300EX spindles?
Rick

Tires...
Well we run the stock tires... Some real mudder style tires, Blackwater, and just bought some Realtors. They can be swapped left to right to make for a good all around tire or ran the other direction for great sand/snow performance.
For the front I have also purchased but not run yet some Titan fast trekker.
Those Realtors are very aggressive and can pull you up some pretty tough stuff.

I have a few mods on my 300EX and they are a DG supertrape pipe, A K&N air filter, rear spacer kit for bigger wheel base,DG nerf bars
DG grab bar, DG bumper, and renthal bars.
FOR TIRES I HAVE BANDITS ON THE FRONT AND HOLESHOTS ON THE BACK, they work alsome
the holeshots let the back end drift out around corners and the bandits prevent the front from drifting for high speed turns and minovers! GREAT COMBINATION OF TIRES
RIDE RED OR GO HOME!
