I have seen this topic in other forums, but thought I'd get the Honda forums perspective. I have a Rancher, but would like to add to the collection. What are your thoughts about the Rubicon and the Vinson. Seems like most comparisons lean towards the Vinson having several advantages over the Rubi. I personally like the ergonomics and looks of the Rubi. I know the Rubi tranny is suppose to be very reliable, but long term costs are a concern (could be costly if the tranny was to fail down the road). I have heard that Honda's 03 Rubi may have switchable 2/4wd. Any one heard of this and a release date? How do you Rubi owners like your drum brakes? Also, Suzuki currently seems to have better pricing and promotions.

By the way, most of my riding is more grunt and less sport and I generally don't go looking for mud, but sometimes it finds me. Your input will be greatly appreciated.

 

I havent even seen the suzuki in person yet, but I love my rubicon. The drums are no prob as I rarley need them. Switchable 2wd would be the decession factor for me again, lets hope the new rubi has it.
