300ex and 400ex top speeds looking to buy one
#2
hey, i have a 300ex and we clocked it beside a car at 58 mph and for the 400ex dirt wheels clocked it at 65, the raptor at 71 or 72 mph i cant remeber. as for jumpers, the 300ex and 400ex are great jumpers in my opinion. as for the raptor i dont know? And for maintaining it the 300ex and 400ex are farily easy to maintain.

Most magazine shootouts, using radar, are saying mid to high 50's for the 300EX, low to mid 60's for the 400EX, and low 70's for the Raptor. Some variance is to be expected from one test to another, but I don't take the GPS or riding beside moms car methods very seriously.
The 400EX and Raptor are both excellent jumpers. The 300EX is not in the same league at all. It's held back by it's cobby dimensions and short travel suspension.
While the Raptor is a bit tippy, because it's so much more powerful it's alot more fun to ride than either of the Honda's.

Sad but true, after a few laps around a motocross track on my X the stock shocks were toast. They over heat and the shock oil likes to leak out after you hit some big doubles . The 400 and the Raptor have much better shocks but they still have their limitations compared to aftermarket ones.
