Noisy engine

Hi
I have a new Sportsman 500 HO with 1 mile on it. I haven't had a chance to ride it much, but at idle the engine makes a sound like a car with a bad lifter. It is a very sharp rapping noise and sounds like it is coming from around where the manual pull start is. I bought two of these Sportsmans at the same time and the other one sounds very quiet and smooth. I am bringing it back to be checked out, but I was wondering if anyone has seen this before or has an idea what it is.
