I am looking to buy a new quad for the wife. She wants something easy to ride. It appears the trailblazer is a good bike for beginners. I am getting mixed signals on its reliability. I have been quoted $3900 Out the door for a Freedom series bike (red, white and blue) Does this sound like a fair deal?

That is 500 less that the local dealership here in WA, far as reliable everything has been good except for the piston, tare it down and put a wiseco in it.

I have friends that have Polaris bikes and they TRULY spend more time in the shop than on the trails.

I just bought the wife a 2001 Trailblazer for $3300 O.T.D. here in SoCal. It is not the freedom model. At the time (2 months ago), I could only find one shop that said they had the freedom TB250, and they quoted me some ridiculous price, so I bought a regular 2001 at my local shop. The wife is VERY happy with it. There were numerous improvements made to the bike for the 2001 model year (brakes, steering, etc). Don't let some people scare you, I have owned 3 Polaris's, and yes they are heavy, but they have all been extremely reliable. I know other people that have them as well, all of them have also been reliable, the oldest one of those is a '92 Trailboss 250 with lots of hours on it. It has never given the owner a problem....just some flat tires. In closing, if you want a "trail bike" then the Trailblazer is a great choice. If you want a "racer/jumper", look for somthing else. Hope this helps.

$3900 is too much, MSRP on the standard TB is $3399 my dealer quoted me like $100 or $150 over the standard TB.

You should also look at the Trail Boss 325, MSRP $3699. It's a four stroke, bigger more comfortable seat, rear rack standard, about the same speed as a stock TrailBlazer. I've got both and my wife definately prefers the Trail Boss.
