Need list of various Polaris springs and spring rates
#1
I would like to know if anyone has a list of the various different springs that polaris sells. I know there is a list with all of them and the different spring rates they offer. I am looking for a list that shows the actual spring rate not just soft, medium and heavy duty ratings. Does anyone know where I can get a copy of this list or if one is posted anywhere. I know dealers have this but are they willing to give out a copy?
Thanks

Ronnnnn,
I think he is looking for suspension springs.
I do not have it posted anywhere but if you tell me what machine you need them for I will tell you the ones available with rates. And if they are front or rear. I can also give you the MSRP.

I am working on making my own dual rate springs. I know that the stock scrambler springs are 113 lbs/inch and the soft springs are listed at 100 lbs/inch. I would like to have some that are around 70 to 75 lbs/inch and also some that are slightly higher than the stock spring rate of a scrambler. I have two bikes that I am wanting to setup. I have someone that can make me adjustable collars and the spacer that goes between the two springs for free. I just need to find which springs I can use. Also springs that are more of a fixed diameter like the old springs in the explorers than the new springs on the Scrambler that start small on the ends and get wider in the middle as they will have to be cut in half. I am after a much softer ride as much of the area that I ride is very rocky. Anyhelp would be great.

colorado,
There are two different stock front spring rates as there are two stock front springs. There are different springs for the Scrambler 2x4 400 (7041868-067), Scrambler 500 2x4 and 4x4 (7041603-067).
Hot Seat Performance makes the dual rate springs that you want, but you must use an aftermarket strut for them to be of any value. Granted the machine will ride softer with the stock struts and aftermarket dual rate springs, but it will bottom a lot easier too. What it sounds like you need are set of struts, rather than new springs. My personal favorite are the Works Performance struts as they use progressive compression dampening. They are designed to use the stock spring, but will work with the HSP dual rate kit. The Fox non-reservoir struts are nice too. They are meant to use the HSP dual rate spring kit exclusively. The best are the Fox "clicker" adjustable struts with remote reservoirs. Both the Works Performance and the Fox (non reservoir) struts are priced the same at about $260 a set. The Fox "clicker" reservoir struts are much more expensine at $295 per strut from HPD.

Thanks for the replys,
I would kind of like to build some myself. I guess I like to tinker too much. Also a pair of springs only costs about $40 to $50 from the dealer. I already have a set that is rated at 81 lbs/inch that I can use for the soft rate spring and just need a set of the stiffer ones so I can cut both in half and have two complete sets. This way I will have two new setups for $50 or less instead of the $200 a piece for the Hotseat setup. If they don't work I only wasted $50 but got to have some fun experimenting. I don't jump much and ride very rocky trails so I need the softest ride I can get. I'm not to concerned about bottoming but still want a little firmer ride when I do happen to hit a big bump.
