Well lets see your new Suz will have much poorer suspension, much poorer brakes, & no gear indicator, however the new Cat has lost it's diff lock feature!

I would go with the 300 cat. I bought mine in january and absolutely love it. I already have 300 miles on it. It rides great, is very stable, easy to work on and easy to add on eqip. In super low the 300 will pull the same as or outpull most 500's. The 280 suzuki power plant is a great motor, I just think that ac did a lot better job with building around the motor.

Buy the Cat. Longer suspension, better brakes, better rack load ratings and a cool new look. It's too bad Cat switched front diffs but I don't think it enough to justify the Suzuki. Besides the Cat will probably be cheaper than the Suzuki.

Hey i would definitly go with the Cat, but instead of getting the new 2002 i would get a 2001 with the old dif(lockable). You would probably also get it for a great price, i know in CT they are selling the 2001 300's for $3800-3900....super cheap(they want to get rid of the floor charges). Being in Cat country i would bet u could get your self a really good price on a 2001, and the is no actual difference between the 02 or the 01 except the body, i think.

Are the 2001 300s you mentioned 4X4?

Thanks!

homedotcom, I can assure you that you will enjoy the a/c 300 4x4. I bought mine in June of 2000 and have a little under 1000mi on it. It has lots of power low end for pulling and is quick enough at 53mph (on the speedo) for open trails and the odd dirt road. For what you'll get in standard eq like speedo, gear indicator, high low super low ranges and selectable 2wd / 4wd I believe this is the best bang for your buck. I picked mine up with a 2000 pound Warn winch for $6500 cdn + tax. The only drawback to this machine as far as I am concerned is the ground clearance.

CrazyCat,

I'm looking for a lower-end 300 4x4. Trying to get back into the sport after 13 years.

I might take a ride to Shepards this weekend to have a look around.

How good was your deal?

Thanks

Kurt
