I deal with Don's Sport Center in Wallingford, and his prices are very competative...i don't know how many 2001's he as left but i do know he was offering us our 3rd 300(to help clear the floor) for 4000 during the winch deal and he would have done free installation....Compared to Al's Arctic Cat, Don's is by far more competative, unfortunitly Don doesn't like to do warranties, but Al would do them even on my quad which i didn't buy from him. Also VT has incredible price, i forget what the bigger model quads were but they were unloading old 2000 and 2001 250's for 3400-3600, i believe....VT has the better pricing but i need local service.

I wouldn't go with the King Quad, cause it's butt ugly. And severly under powered.
At least the Cat looks nice.

Don't come around trying to start brand bashing sh*t, there are plenty of people who'd like nothing better than talking about how great Hondas are. Yea, there are tons of aftermarket goodies available for Big Red products, reason being Hondas' don't offer as many features. Oh isn't Honda that just had tranny issues, and wheel problems. Buy a Honda to be like everyone else, buy Cat and be a free thinker.

The only thing I'd suggest is, if you want to ride trails and use it for working at home, I'd consider a larger engine and probably liquid cooled. I live in Michigan and ride as much as my wife can handle. :0)
I've riden with friends and have had my Suzuki King Quad 300, run hot on three seperate occassions. Once on a very tight trail, popping the tires through the trees for ten miles or so. Again at H/M Trails on a hot day in May, climbing the hills there. Last, in September, 01, when I was riding behind some other riders and I didn't want to shift from a lower gear while behided slower traffic. One thing you might try if you've already decided on the 280cc. engine is to use a synthetic oil. These little engines take on a lot of heat and the synthetics don't break down as fast as organic oils do. It cost a little more for oil but it's worth it. I'm just starting to use it myself.

Cat does offer an optional oil cooler fan for around $120 (wish I had the catalog with me so I could give out the part #). Anyways it uses the typical temp sensor to kick the fan on and off. Before I sold the 250 I was seriously considering buying it. Not because of any overheating problem (never had any problems then when riding double) but simply for piece of mind.

That is a good consideration TG1. I added a fan but it's not a stock fan and I only have to turn on a switch to get cooling. I have to remember to turn the fan on... not good...
