I have 2 different clear plastic hoses that have managed to melt gainst the exhaust pipe. The first seems to be a vent hose off the carburator but the second one seems to start at the top of the transmission and then goes up(up to where I don't know becuase it was melted). Where is this clear hose from the tranny suppose to end? Is it a type of vent hose also and is supposed to be open ended? What is the purpose of the hose also? Please help? Thanks!

I beleive they are both vent hoses. Mine used to fit into hole on the frame, next to the airbox. If they melt closed, clip them.

BayouBlaster,

The vent hoses from the carb should run down and the vent hoses from the transmission and counterbalancer should run up and into the frame near the airbox. If the hoses are getting burned, do what I did, run them inside of the shifter linkage rod. That should keep them away from the pipe.

Thanks guys. I figured they were probably vent hoses but I had to be sure. I'll reroute them and fix my little problem.
