What pressure does everyone use for their 18 rear Turf-Tamers? How about Front Grooved Radials? I went and tested 'em out today with the fronts at 7psi, and the rears at 10, and it seemed like a good setup.

 

Depends on what kind of rims you have.If they do not have beadlocks or reinforcing rings on them you should run about 10 in the front and 5-6 in the rear,but if you have the good rims take both front and rear down 2 pounds.

 

Yea, I was going to include that I don't have beadlocks yet (waiting till I can afford the Hy-Per Carbon Fiber Rims), so I knew I didn't want to go under 4 PSI or so. I do have a set of reinforcing rings for now though. Also, I have pic's of two different quads with turf tamers, and they are running such I high pressure that the tires are bubbled out, moreso than mine were at 10 PSI. What's with that? Anyway's, thanks for the input, and anyone else's suggestions would be appriciated.

I run 5 in the rear (beadlocks) and 7 in the front (grooved radials on .190s w/outer rings). If I run any more air in the front it tends to bend the wheels.

Could you elaborate more on this? Do they need 22 PSI to stay properly seated?

Generaly speaking, The less air pressure you run, the better the traction. But if you run to low of air pressure you will bend the rims on jumps, Or you will hit the rims going threw the whoops. If you run 22 psi in the grooved radials you wont have a problem bending the rims but you will not get very good traction either.I have raced pro quad localy and 10 front and 5-7 rear is about as low as you want to go without beadlocks. I have tried 3 in the rear 1 time and landed a little sideways and blew the tire right off the bead. I also have a egg shaped stock front rim from trying to go to 8 pounds on the front without the benefit of beadlocks.

I run 12 in my groved radial on beadlocks, 10 in my front Fast Trakers on black labels, 4 in my Turfs on beadlocks and 7 in groved Turfs on Black labels. I run the beadlocks on dry tracks and the black labels when its muddy.
Works good for me but you need to remember that it also depends on the suspention on the bike, track conditions and your style of riding.
