I have an LT80 I just rebuilt. It has a Kehein carb with K&N filter (LRD) and clutch mods/pipe. When it is run full throttle after about 20 seconds it will stumble for 3-4 seconds then recover, it does it consitently. I think the float level may be low or the tank is somehow not feeding fuel properly? Any suggestions on how to address this?

When I modded out my son's LT80, I also ported out the reed cage for more flow, and running flat out,it would miss if you held it wide open, turned out the stock carb was emptying out,the miss was running out of gas !! One guy I heard actually drilled out his float seat hole to get the bowl to fill faster. On your Keihn, you may need to just raise the float level a little. The stocker is a little small for a heavily modded intake system.

Sounds like the fuel tap is closing off... the stock tap has a vacuum line to the motor... bigger carb and wide throttle equals less vacuum and the tap can turn off. Try running with the tap in the prime position. If it fixes it, modify the tap to lose the vacuum line.

well dang,,now I have to really think
95Wolv,The stock carb will rev to the moon,BUT,if there is not another vent drilled into the bottom of it,they wont rev.
Ok the other thing is having to drill out the rubber diaphram in the petcock.
Have you tried the stock carb on it to see if that fixes it?

Default LT80 troubles?

I had the same issue , after putting Kehein carb. Try riding the bike with the fuel switch in the primer position. Seem to fix my sons LT80 fuel issue. ( for now)

PLEASE HELP!!!

I have rebuilt what was a working Lt80, but now have electrical issues and cant start from the button. I have by-passed the white connector straight to the starter and it starts no prob's. but no joy when re-connected! i have changed the starter moduel and the batt is ok. i have a manual which is okay to a point but is not that clear as to the exact connections of wires etc so i must have made a mistake somewhere. have removed the loom from the quad and tried again, checking earths etc and it looks ok. any idea's? some clown sugested binning it and getting a new one! thanks for that... This Lt80 has little smoke and goes really well, well did! stripped to re-paint frame.

thanks

Where should the fuel petcock be when starting/riding/storing it away for a while? It seems to have (pri)(on) and (res)...?
