wanted to know what a good ATV for me? I am planning on getting both a Sport (wanting a Raptor) and a utility ( wanting a Grizzly 600). I am 6'3 300lbs. Would a Raptor hold me? I am wanting the sport ATV first, and its gotta be fast!! Any recommendations?

For a utility, I would probably get the 660 Grizzly, just because it has the biggest engine, except the Polaris but I am not fond of Polaris! For a sport quad, if your buying new a Raptor would be an alright choice, but if you want a 4-Stroke, a Cannondale can't be beat, IMHO. Another choice is the Banshee, they have UNLIMITED amounts of mods out there, so you can have a 500cc stroker motor if you want it, plus alot of Suspension mods. Where will you be riding mostly though? Tell us where you ride and we can help you get the right quad for your riding area/style.

 

a lot of Missouri farmland, little trail riding. I have the opportunity to purchase both, so I was looking at the Grizzly for deep muddy trails and the Raptor for blasts across the plains[img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif[/img]

 

Well, the Raptor would probably be a good choice, but I would still take the Cannondale Cannibal over a Raptor because of the technology in it(Aluminum frame, EFI, Ohlins on some) and they are faster stock, plus American made! My advice is to go test ride both, and decide from there. Either way you will porbably be happy.

buying both the Raptor and Grizzly you will probably get a better price if you buy them together but....
Being 6'3 and 300 lbs the raptor might be to small for you, therefore I would look into the DS650. Don't get me wrong the raptor is a bad *** bike, but size wise you might fit on the DS a little better.

 

How much $$$ do you want to pay good god. But i would either get the Grizz 660 or polaris sportsman 700. For sport if you really want to go fast look into the new cannondales the speed, cannibal or blaze 440. These things will fly and if you really got the money get a cannondale moto 440 haha thats my wish list but if you plan on gettin a cannondale the cheapest is 6995 the most expensive yet fastest would be the moto at 12,500 dollars so good luck with your quads AND YOUR BILLS[img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-happy.gif[/img]

 

I agree with NorthernEdge, go and sit on a DS650 and I can almost gaurantee it will fit your size the best. I had a raptor and it fit my size fairly well and I'm 5'11" 225 lbs. The DS felt big for my size so I purchased the raptor. Either choice you make is a good one.

 

Go sit and test ride a DS650. I'm 6'4" and 240Lbs. and the DS feels good to me. It has PLENTY of power to push the 80Lbs. of more weight than the Rappy. When mine was stock I raced a guy that weighed 90-100Lbs. less than me, so for a total of 180 Lbs. more I still beat him in the 1/8 mile races we had. The Rappy ALWAYS got me on the holeshot until I bought better tires. The new Baja edition DS has much better stock tires than mine had stock. Try it you'll like it.

 

I'm 6' and felt a little cramped on my 400EX. The strestched out seating posotion of the DS was one of the main reasons I picked it over the Raptor.
