I am also a bigger rider 6'1 and 275lb. I looked at all the bikes too. I was not comfortable on the Yamaha,s or Honda,s. They are made for smaller riders.
I went with a Polaris Scrambler (Great Power, Great Suspension Plus if you get the 4x4 you can have the best of both worlds in one machine. SEMI SPORT/SEMI UTILITY.
The polaris may not beat a Raptor, Banchee, DS650, It will hang quite well with 400EXs.
If you want an all out sport then I would have to say the DS650. It seams to fit larger rides well.
The other bikes feel funny, and I have seen big guys on the smaller bikes (THEY JUST LOOK OUT OF PLACE)
As far as POLARIS quality
Polaris Sells More Auto ATVs than all others COMBINED. If quality was a big Issue why would people keep coming back?

While it's true that the the Scrambler 400 is the quickest Polaris and will hang with a 400EX in a drag race, the term "Great Suspension" and Scrambler shouldn't be used in the same sentance. On very rough or twisty trails the EX will run off and leave it. The Honda is a High performance quad with a sport motor, while the Scrambler has a sport motor in a trial bike chassis.

I never said that the suspension was better on a SCRAMBLER compared to the 400EX. I said It was good,
(especially MY2000 and up, 10.5"in rear 8.2" in the front). The polaris is not a race bike in stock form by any means.
The Polaris Scrambler will give you a great combination of SPORT and Utility.
On the Trails the Bike Rides very nice. If you are a smaller rider the Polaris is probably not for you.
I had a SUZUKI 250 R and it was a nice bike, But I am much more comfortable on my Scrambler.
If you want an ALL OUT SPORT the Scrambler is probably not the bike to look at, I would look at the DS650 because the machine is a little bigger. (AND MADE IN THE USA).
MUSTANGMIKE said he wantes a Sport and a Utility, I THINK A SCRAMBLER WOULD BE A GREAT CHOICE
He is 6'3 and 300lbs (How Good will that HONDA SUSPENSION BE)
The 400 Scramblers are also very easy to MOD.
Drop $325.00 for a pipe and clutch kit and it will shamefully beat a 400EX in a drag.

I am a big fellow also 6'0, 275.lbs and despite all the negative comments I have heard about polaris I just bought a new scrambler 500 4x4. I love it. Its quick and its 4x4. Its also on a big frame. Which I rode a honda 250X for 10 years (great atv)and loved it too.

I bought a Baja last week, took it out in the field for the first time yesterday...WOW!! I haven't been around bikes very much, but that DS fockin' gets it!!! And, it also drank the gas like a fish!!! Not a lot of fun on the trails along the river though. (I rode with my brother and his Prarie V-Twin--he left me!)
