would a piped Raptor beat a stock Quadzilla ???

I'm talking straight line drag racing.... on pavement, not sand, gravel, or dirt
a stock Raptor with the best pipe, jet kit, and airbox mods
VS
a stock LT500 that is in like-new condition, or even rebuilt to stock specs
what's everyone's best guess as to who would pull ahead first and who would have the highest top speed?

Not even close. The raptor runs good, but there is no comparison to the fast revving 2-stroke.
Tried this last summer in the deep sand.
Buddy had his new raptor with loud aftermarket pipe, airfilter, etc.
My LT has an FMF pipe, stock otherwise, 3 y/o piston .040" overbore. I'd say I was whipping him at least 4 bike lengths up some of the larger dunes.
Keep in mind there are other factors such as rider ability, tires, etc.
It's the same old arguement... until they make the 4strokes rev and somewhat equivalent in horsepower... they won't compete with the old 2-strokes.

You obviously have no idea what boring a motor .040" does to performance! Absolultely nothing! That's about the width of your fingernail!
Boring it out to say 530cc's does make a difference, but not .040"
about the pipe... Mine had the stocker on it when I found it, the FMF didn't make that much difference (If any)
THIS IS ABOUT AS STOCK AS IT GETS PAL!
Furthermore, Sand is the best place to compare performance since it robbs a great deal of HP.
Asphalt racing doesn't tell you much of anything except who has the fastest clutch finger..
Still won't matter, the raptor is a slouch in comparison..
Bring it on!
You asked for opinions... I gave you my 'real world' experience

A properly tuned stock lt500 (previous owner) is very fast, but there is no way it would run with a piped and properly jetted Raptor...assuming equal riders and weight. Heck, a proper piped and jetted Raptor will run with a piped Banshee! This is first hand experience guys. WOuld love to run across a clean quadzilla looking for a home.......

The LT500r in new condition would win a straght line drag in sand or on the street. A piped raptor would be more of a match for a slightly modded running 250R.
I do not what all mods are done to the Banshees around here, but the piped raptors are not even allowed to race in the same class. The Banshees have to run with the full race 250Rs and quadzillas. The Modded Raptors do good to give the modified Scamblers a challenge, but even then the modified 400 Scramblers are winning.
