I have a quick question?

I think I read awhile back that you put in piston cams and a different carb?

If you dont mind sharing what parts and specs of the parts did you use?

How do you like it?

How was the install?

Did you do any porting work?

Thanks
Bat

bat, yes i love the power. so far everything i have is ron woods. currently i'm running the stage two kit with the 42mm carb not the 45mm. i did the install myself, it wasn't bad at all. you do however have to make or buy a valve spring compressor. i opted to make mine and save the $100.00 that snap-on was charging for the compressor. (cost me $15.00 to make). i also replaced the clutch springs, even though i wasn't experiancing slippage with the stock ones.i don't have any head mods as of yet.

as posted previously i went this route, because i didn't want to wait for the time it would have taken to get the 703 kit done. i am definitely not disappointed with my choice.

an example of the power:
i'm running a 15 tooth counter sprocket and 22" edge paddles. in glamis while climbing the steepest part of "the wall"- in stage 1 form - i would slowly lose power and just roll over the top. now i'm able to power all the way up and jump an additional 40 feet off the top. what a ride!!!

i had the chance, thanks to vegas650, to ride a 703. it is a very torquey ride, however i have'nt had the chance to race against him with the stage 2 installed. it should be interesting.

if you do the install yourself. there are three areas in particular that gave me problems.
1. need to build or buy valve spring compressor.
2. pin on exhaust cam for decompressor - what a pain to remove
3. torque specs in manual wrong for head nuts - stripped three of the four before finding this out.

hope this helps.

Thanks for the info, it does help.

I am not sure what I am going to do yet. I want to get a nice setup that will run hard. But still be dependable.

Thanks again
Bat
