Hi all, what is on the 500i for stock tires, and are they any good. The one thing that is clear to me about this quad is it is superior in its ride. I would like to hear from people that installed after market tires and if it improved or hinder the ride. Thanks

The 2002's come stock with Dunlops, the earlier models came with Titans, 489s or 495s. I prefer the Titans over the Dunlops, and think most people would agree with me. I've ridden a 375 with stock Dunlops, and didn't like them. There are alot of aftermarket tires out there that won't hinder the ride (probably improve it) and at the same time dramatically improve traction.

666akita666, I changed the stock dunlops as soon as I got my 500i auto home. I went with the titan 589 A/T's big improvement traction wise, about the same ride quality. I noticed that most of questions that you have posted have been discussed here before. Did you know that you can do a search in this forum?

Akita, the dunlops are horrible! I much prefer the Titans, but AC has stopped putting them on the high end models..

Add in the cost of changing the tires into the price of the quad. That way you know what the total cost of the quad really is.

I'm running GBC Dirt Devils and love them!

Thanks for your reply Crazy Cat. I did search the forum but most of the info was prior to the 2002 model. But I will search the form for now on prior to posting. I looked up the Titan 589’s on the Internet (very nice tires!!!) But the model I saw was Titan 586 M/Ts. What is the difference? Thanks again!

666akita666, The Titan 589 A/T's are the same tire as the ITP 589 M/S. ITP bought the molds and factory from Titan (according to the ITP rep.I spoke to)The Titan 589 M/T's are a new design that Titan themselves are manufacturing. They have a stepped lug and grooves cut in to them on the top of each Lug. The M/T's also have a larger rim guard molded into them. I however chose the A/T (M/S) becouse the rubber compound is supposed to be harder than on the M/T which suits my riding style better. Hope that helps!
