Should I upgrade to a full system on my Raptor???
#1
I just bought a raptor with a White Brothers R series slip on, I jetted the bike and added a K&N. My question is, will I gain from adding the header pipe to my bike? What do you guys think of the White Brothers Pipe? I was wondering if there were any secrets to getting more HP out of the bike. Right now I want to stick with bolt-ons (no big bore kits YET). What should I do next?

I personally dont know much about the white bros pipe,, but I would absolutly add the head pipe. And yes you will notice a pon gain. Everything about the stock raptor exhaust is restrictive. I would also go with a proflow intake and do some air box mods. A port job will also make a huge difference.

You mentioned Pro Flow intake, what is that, I took the snorkel off the airbox, and plan to cut a bigger hole in the top once I get some bigger jets. Does the Pro Flow take place of the air box or is it after the filter?

if you want the most out of your quad a full exhaust should be part of the plan. dont expect a noticable increase by changing the header, you will most likely get a more noticable increase by going with a pro-design pro flow with k&n filter and a jet kit, this will cost less and be more noticable. but ultimatly a full system will help get the most out of it

If you don't run in mud holes, take the lid right off. Definately get a pro flow flange, and filter. And then buy some jets. You should be able to go up at least 1 or 2 sizes. You will notice an increase.
I would leave the header pipe until last.

Thanks for the info, I am used to sport bikes, and didn't know if the single cylinder bikes would react the same. I already have a K&N and a jet kit. I wonder how much it would help to get the pro flow? Is the pro flow something special, or can I just take the rubber intake boots off and use clamp on filters like the Banshee?

You should have gotten the e-series rather than the r series pipe. it performs better. Also it is more tunable. anyway, the head pipe is a waste of money. I dont know what kind of riding you do but I am a pretty muscular 200 lbs and my bike is all I can handle through most terrain. My front end comes up with ease in the first 3 gears and even in 4th if you slightly lean back. Maybe your jetting is wrong. Did you use the dynojet kit?
Unless you are sand dragging, i cant think of a reason to have more power.

Like I said above, I bought the bike with the pipe on it. I think I am going to get the head pipe, my next thing will be either running clamp on filters or getting the pro flow setup. I am just wondering if the pro flow would be better than the clamp on filters.
