Jeez, I'm sorry to hear that. I hope that you had insurance. I trust that you called in the numbers to the police? The one thing in this world that I absolutely can't stand is a thief. Another idea would be to run an add in the paper offering a reward and hang up some fliers. Most people that are stupid enough to hang around those who are sorry enough to steal wouldn't mind earning a few bucks to rat out a "friend". I don't understand how someone can be so pathetic and lazy to steal something that someone has spent their hard earned money on rather than get off of their sorry butts, do a little work and buy their own things.

BTW Good luck..

Very sorry to hear that! I'll keep my eyes/ears open around town, hopefully they are stupid enough to boast about it.
I will also tell a friend of mine that lives in Peyton the same. I live near Sky Sox stadium and generally work on the east side.

Any distinctive things on your husbands quad?

THE QUAD HAD MANY STICKERS ALL OVER IT UNDER THE FENDERS AND SUCH. WE HAVE ALSO HEARD THAT THERE IS ONLY ONE OTHER ONE IN TOWN - IT IS BRIGHT YELLOW - AND OH YES - IT DOESN'T HAVE A KEY! WE COULD SEE THE TRACKS WERE THEY PUSHED IT FROM THE FRONT OF OUR HOUSE TO THE ROAD AND THEN LOADED IT ON A TRAILER OR SOME SORT OF RAMP. WE ARE GOING TO QUESTION OUR NEIGHBOR TONIGHT. WE HAVE HAD CONTRACTORS COMING IN AND WORKING ON OUR HOUSE, WE HAVE A FEELING IT COULD HAVE BEEN ONE OF THEM. WE LIVE OFF OF JONES RD.

THANKS FOR KEEPING YOUR EYES AND EARS OPEN - WE'VE GOT TO STICK TOGETHER IN TIMES LIKE THESE.

The rural area you live in makes me lean towards the contractor thing too. I wouldn't think someone looking to steal a quad would just happen to find yours. Sounds like they new what to look for and where to find it.
Good luck and keep us posted!

THE ONLY THING IS THAT HOW DO YOU APPROACH A CONTRACTOR THAT IS WORKING ON YOUR HOME ABOUT SOMETHING LIKE THIS... KEEP ME POSTED IF YOU HAPPEN TO SEE ANYTHING - I CAN EMAIL YOU OUR NUMBER FOR A POINT OF CONTACT. THE THING THAT REALLY SUCKS IS THAT I WAS ABOUT TO GET MY BLASTER SO WE COULD DO SOME REAL RIDING!

My e-mail is: chavychav@adelphia.net
I am a heating contractor and deal almost exclusively with new tract homes. If there is a job foreman, I would approach him and explain the situation. Chances are he wouldn't risk his job on something like this and as long as it doesn't sound like you're accusing him he probably would be willing to help(good for business).
The only other thing I can think of is you might contact the dealers in Cos., Pueblo, and Castle Rock to let you know if anyone orders an ignition system for a DS.

There's a gene pool that needs to be clorinated. When you catch the theif, alter his ability to reproduce so the defective gene stops there.... Yah! I know, too bad its not legal.

Seriously though, make regular visits to the mx track on hwy 94, or any other popular reding area, it will probably show up there. It may be a different color but chances are, the scum bag thief will be a local guy and will try to keep and ride the DS.
I used to live in the Springs and always heard of (and admired) the "shoot first-ask questions later" theory of life way out on the east side. My guess is who ever took it either hasn't heard this rumor or he lives out there and knows what he can get away with. What ever the case, he/she is stupid and, with a little work, you will probably catch them.

Good luck
