I was wondering if I could put on a shift light like a MSD or Autometer that have the RPM chips that are removeable?

Could I use the orange coil wire as a pickup or would I have to come off the CDI box?

I want to put a shift light on for sand drags so when I shift I can keep it in the meat of the power band & shift at the same RPM every time for concistancy.

Don't know that it is possible, but it is a great idea!!! Hopefully someone can help you out on that one.

I tried to put a tach with a shift light on my Mojave. The tach would illuminate at night but I never actually got the needle to move. I had the lead wire attached to the wire leading to the coil. I was supposed to receive a diagram from someone on the form but never got it. I sold the tach after a couple weeks. If you guys get this to work tell me I would really liek to install one!
