My 400 ex has a dg pipe (round with super trapp discs at rear). What jetting do I need to run best?

 

I personally think you should sell your pipe and buy something else. (just an opinion)

 

Why does it hurt more than it helps ?

 

I wouldn't say the pipe hurts, Any aftermarket pipe is better than the stocker. It's just that I am not a fan of dg on 400ex, although i like their pipe for the 300ex. Also to be helpful I would go out and buy a K&N power kit. Reason being, you get a filter, jets and needle. Hope the pipe works well for you.

 

Will it have recommendations on what to use with what mods?

Don't know the guy. Yeah mine came with needle settings for a stock pipe, and jet settings, I think mine is isn't the same, you just have to put them in and play with it a little. I know the needle setting they told me didn't let enough or to much gas in the carb when i rode wheelies so i changed it. Also depending on whether it is winter or summer rejetting can help. Also the PowerKit comes with about 5 different jets, a needle, and a clip for the needle.

 

i think you should get a 155-162 and play with them some will give bottom end some just screw with ya and one will be just right
