I need to know some things...hehe

On the grizzly, the tires are 25x8-12 front and 25x10-12 rear, what i need to know is...how big of a tire can i put on these rims? Do i have to change the rims to put 26x12-12? Also, should i go any bigger on the front than the original size? I guess all this reading i do is just making me dumber!!! lol

I am looking at the blackwater, dirtdevil, mudbug, ITP? I do want a 6 ply tire for sure, but would also like one that is not bad on the trails as well.... guess i am just wanting to improve ground clearance without loosing a decent ride!

All comments welcome!!!

Jonathan

first off, as long as the last number on the tire ( in this case 12 ) matches the size of the rim, you are ok.

Second, you must ge the same size ( diameter wise ) for the front and back on all 4x4's. you must also get the same tire on the front and back. for example you must get both dirt devils on the front and rear of the quad. becasue not all tire diameters are the same so you can ruin the fron diff. if the tire is smaller.

Third, i am going to get the dirt devil xt's for my grizz when i get it. I decided on the dirt devil's becasue they are a good all-round tire. They are supposed to be good in mud, snow, and hard serfaces. The mud bugs and 589's are better in mud and snow, but supposed to ge rough on hard surfaces.

Thank you for the reply....

I have read on so many tires, i cant remember if the D/D is a 6 ply or not? If so, next i guess would be price. I think i understand it now...

first # (27) stands for total height
Second # (9.75) stands for tire track width
third # (12) stands for rim width

Is this correct?

Also, as long as a find a tire that is same as rim width...all i have to worry about is body/frame clearance? correct?

Sorry for sounding like a moron, but i am new to the sport, not the most mechanically inclined, but do learn.. hehe

Ya ever have a medical question then i can answer!! eh!

So i guess that i will be looking at tires again, and try to find a six ply that meets the other requirements as well :-)

Do you suggest a rim for the D/D's or are the stockers ok?
Thanks again
Jonathan
