What one is faster in a 300foot drag?

Power wise would they feel about even?
XR400R 27rwhp 257Lbs
Baja DS650 42rwhp 475Lbs

Well, I really don't know, but if you got the XR, I have the DS. And we can find out for sure.

I have a Yamaha XT 600, the ds takes it out of the hole, then at about 30-35 the XT pulls away.

9.5 pounds per HP for the XR
11.3 pounds per HP for the DS.

Winner = XR. ALSO, the XR with its more aggresive cam than the 400EX probably yields more like 30 RWHP.

Thanks for the help.
It said 27-28rwhp for a 1997 XR400R. I couldent tell for sure it was a graph. I know it was not 30 but that sounds closer because the motor makes 35hp at the crank.
