Anyone seen the Polaris comparison between the 700 and the griz. They are really reaching out for an edge in that one. They give themselves checks in some stuff that I wouldn't consider better. Wow 4 lbs more rack capacity. Link is 700, Griz Comparison. They need to give the griz a check for reliability.

Silly me, I must of had a brain fart, it's a Yamaha, of course it,s more reliabel. Thanks burnoffski for helping me see the light. Yamaha=reliabilty, I will start spreading the news to all the Polaris owners that, Yamaha is more reliable then Polaris because it says Yamaha on the side. Thanks for the insight.

 

You know i never thought yamaha was reliable until i bought my blaster. My friends told me not to get a two stroke because they are not reliable. Well everytime we go riding its my friends brand spanking new dr200 that wont start. We have to pop start it whenever we go riding. SO yea yamaha are reliable. I cant say anything for polaris cuz i dont own one. But zuki ill stay awayfrom

yfm660r, take off the blinders. Desribe to me what Polaris's YOU personally have seen broke down, not rumors you have read about on this forum. Come on guys, NOT one manufacture is more prone to failures than the other. We all start off on the same foot.

 

I've never been impressed with Polaris's advertising scheme. The latest one I seen was a magazine ad entitled "700cc of whoop ***" Hmm...and all this time I thought it was 683cc displacement. I have nothing against Polaris quads, but the fact that they and Arctic Cat do the "competition comparison" which at times is misleading or flat out incorrect does leave a bad taste in my mouth.

I wonder what the sales figures on the big bore quads look like when compared. ?

I used to think Yamaha was more reliable to until I hear more and more problems with their piece of junk grizzlies and raptors. I thought 4 strokes were supposed to be more reliable. Yamaha is doing a good job of changing that. The grizzley can't seem to cross water without dieing and getting toed across it. Why don't Raptor trannies seem to last for over 7 months. I sometimes feel embarrassed to own my banshee because it is a Yamaha. My banshee has been trouble free though.

Frist off, Grizzly 660's aren't "afraid" of water. I get so sick and tired of reading that crap. Before I modded my airbox I regularly rode in water up to the lights. The water issue is a myth brought on by folks who either try to submarine their quads, or by folks who run into a limiter and are too ignorant to know what that is, so they blame the machine. I own one and ride the **** out of it, if that were an issue I'd sure as heck know about it. Secondly, every manafacture is going to have a lemon now and then, Yamaha included...I own 3 Yamaha's and have had no problems with them, likewise I haven't had any problems with the suzuki, blazer or Kawasak that I own. Thirdly, I think most "POS" machines are that way because of their owners. And lastly, what the heck does your comment that yamahas are a POS (in your opinion) have to do with the subject of this thread? If you're so embarressed to own a Yamaha, sell the darn thing and go get something that won't embarress you-that's what I would do.
