Help with wiring a cargobox brake light
#1
Here's the deal. I own an arctic cat, but I thought maybe all you nice polaris folks might still be able to help me. We have a cargo box/backrest by motovan. It has a brake light built in that has a red and black wire coming out of it. The question is how which wires do we splice with what? The brake light on the quad has a plug with 3 wires, brown, yellow, and red. They plug into another mass of wires... if anyone knows what to do please give me some instructions.
Thanks in advance

NeWf I don't know the wiring on the cat but with thoughs colors I would think brown is ground and red is stop you can check it with a test light. hook the ground of the test to the frame and turn on the lights check yellow and red if one lights you will know that is the tale lite now turn off the lights and put on the brakes check the wires agin if you don't get the test lite to go on in thoughs tests do it checking with the brown too but I think that shold be ground
Hope that helps Jim

Thanks for the reply, but we just got back from working on it again and we figured it out. You are right, though, brown was ground and red the brake. This is how we set it up the very first time (before i posted here) and it didn't work. But that was because the clip connectors we had didn't fully break through the wire insulation. We found out where everything went by unplugging the brake lights and sticking the cargo box wires in there. Guess we had a brain fart not to have thought of that in the first place.. oh well live and learn
thank anyway though!
