i am toying around the idea of getting my a-arms,tie rod,cv joint, and swingarm extened to get some more lift. i was wandering if anyone else has tried this and what was the outcome. i am thinking abount going 3 inches. will i need to go the same amount on cv joint as everything else.

maximus,

That is really weird because I was just talking about doing the same thing this past weekend. A +3" extended swingarm from hotseat, and custom lengthening the a-arms, cv-shafts, and tie rods. Lengthening the a-arms should allow more lift in the front with less angle on the cv-joints and u-joints. I'm probably not as serious about the modification as you, but it is crossing my mind. The sky's the limit.

Custom Lift 700

Hey guys, thought this might help. The bike shown in the link was made by Bert's Dirt Works in Spring TX. The lift is all custom fab like you are talking about doing. If you have any questtions, just give them a call. They are great guys and can probably answer all of your questions. (281) 655-1714 Ask for Bert or Jerry.

(To my knowledge, this is the biggest wheeler in the country!)
