Well, I remember seeing this article and decided to dig it up again. It sas they only spent $2000. I have a complete ATC but it needs work. I was thinking, should I attempt my own budget racer? I'm only 15, money is an issue(which is why I don't have a C-Dale or race ready 250r, unlike some lucky "Corny" people). Anyway, I know I could come up with close to $2000 over the next few months. My question is, should I attempt this, and destroy what use to be a nice ATC, or just sell it, and try and find some way to get more money(state laws suck, can't have a "real" job until I'm 16 ) for a 250R? Has anyone done this before? What were you're outcomes? Thanks for any advise or tips. Also, where would be a good place to find a frame, besides E-Bay?

I would sell your ATC if you're going to do that. You could pick up a used 4trax250r or could wait for the new Suzuki and save your pennies. I'd give you in the neighborhood of $800 for your 250r with the bad motor if everything is straight on it. I could pick it up, but it might be a few weeks before I could come out. Have you pulled the motor back apart? I thought you put a new crank in this thing before it started making noises?

You might also be able to find a decent rolling chassis for a 250 that needs a motor. There are lots of guys selling frames because they get a lone star or something, but you usually need a bunch of parts to make it happen.

I put in a new piston/rings. I am undecided as to whether I should sell it, or do this project. I have also already had 2 offers, both for $900, but one was too far away. Anyway PM me if you're interested int he ATC, I'll give you the details.
