I assume you're talking about the studs where the head pipe bolts onto the head, and that you're still running the stock head pipe. At first I thought that somehow your whole exhaust assembly is flexing and snapping the studs, but I run a E-Series Pro Meg that uses just one mounting bolt for the muffler instead of the stock 2 or 3 and haven't had a problem. My guess is that you're over-torqueing the nuts on the head pipe...the torque on them is only 8.7 foot pounds...not a whole lot.

Yamaha was drunk when they designed this part...The studs should be bigger. Everyone I know with a Warrior has had this problem at 1 time or another.

*LOL* Since it sounds as though I'll end up replacing the exhaust studs...how hard is it?

Replacing the exhaust studs is easy the fun part is getting them out when there seized up. Oh ya be sure to carry stuff to fix em when they break off out in the middle of nowhere.
