Hey everyone, I hope you guys can help me out. I need a quad, and I only wanna spend about 5k. So with that i can get a Warrior, 300ex, mojave, or a used 400ex or banshee. BUT, i'm a larger rider, 6'3, 220lbs, so the real question is which bike is a better fit for a taller rider? I don't have any riding experience with quads, except my friend's polaris automatic, but that doesn't mean anything. I drive a clutch everyday in my car, so at least i have an understanding on how the tranny works. any suggestions? I know i can go to the dealer and just sit on 'em, but riding them and just sitting on them in the showroom is probably a big difference.

The best thing for you to do is go out to the dealers and ride them and think to yourself could I sit on this for hours and ride around.
Just ride'em and see what you like the 300ex is kinda small though do you deffinitly want to go with the sport over utility?

definately sport over utility. besides the motor, is the 400ex the same size as the 300ex? I've heard that the warrior is good for 6 footers, is this true?

What type of riding do you do, and WHERE do you plan to ride (what type of terrain)?

What type of riding? Trail riding, motocross riding after a while. I live in Indiana, and surprizingly there are a few decent places to ride here. I have access to motocross tracks, and a good friend of mine has his own track. Moto-style riding is advanced, so i'll be trail riding for a while first

If you are going to trail ride AND motocross later, I would definately say your best choice would be the 400EX.

It is a 4-stroke, so it will be great for the trails, AND it has great suspension and handling which will make it good for motocross once you decide to advance to that.

I'd recommend the Banshee. You can find 'em cheap enough if you look hard enough and the mods are endless. They'll handle a 6 footer no prob.

There are alot of posts about tranny problems on the 01 Raptor...make yourself familiar with these before following the advice in the previous post.
