Paying for an ATV
#1
Hi, I've recently hit a bump in my quest to buy my first quad. First of all I don't have $3,500 to throw around. Secondly I don't think I can get a loan from my parents. Now, is there any other way to buy a quad in monthly payments? Now keep in mind I'm only 15 and really have no expirence buying such a pricey toy.

Hate to tell you, but at your age, there are few options. I had to get a job when I was 16, and it took me over a year to buy my first car for $1,700(tells you how long ago that was!)
You won't qualify for any bank, financing plan or credit card due to your age. I would suggest getting a job, show your parents how much you can save, and maybe they will be impressed enough to loan you the rest. If you save the first $1000 or $1500, they may help you out.
I'd try to be realistic though. Without your parents help, it's going to be a while until you get it. Set your goals, work toward them, and enjoy them when you get there.
Good luck.

yeah, to the above. also when you are 15 you can buy something with cash but not with credit due to minors not being able to be held responsible in a contract. in other words a finance co. can't take you to court or any other option because you cannot have a contract with a minor. i learned that by watching judge Judy. seriously, i tried to do that when i was a minor.

This is what I would do if I was you.... Save as much money as possible until you are 16 then get a job. When you get that job and show your parents you are responsible enough to hold a job ask them to co-sign a loan for you. What this does is gives you the money but your parents are liable if you don't make the payments.
I don't think you will have much of a selection on quads at 15 anyway, if you wait until you are 16 you will have more options.

Hi,
You didn't mention what kind of quad you were looking at buying for 3,500, but have you considered dropping your expectations for your first one? Used Blasters are all over, and can be had for 1000 in great shape, and are easy to mod for speed and handling. Maybe if you weren't set on spending all that on a quad, your parents may be more willing to help you out? I don't know what exactly you are looking for,so this is just a suggestion, and good luck on getting your first wheeler.
