what sport quad has the most PLUSH ride???
#1
I'm guessing it would be the new DS650 BAJA... but I'm hoping some people that have actually ridden many different quads would respond
looking to set up a sport quad for trail riding, and wonder which quad would handle rough terrain the best after I set up the suspension as soft as it will go, run low air pressures in the tires, etc.... other things to consider is the seat softness and size, as well as ease of steering, etc.
I'm hearing so much praise about the DS... how comfortable the seat and ergonomics are, how plush the suspension is, but they say it turns a little stiff for a sport quad... and how does that extra weight affect things, turning, etc.?
let me know what you all have experienced or think... thanks

The DS is the most comfortable quad allive. I've had several ATV's, and its the plushest I've ridden. All my buddies (with yamahas, hondas, etc.) rave about how comfortable the DS is when they get on it. The seat is awesome, and the suspension has a lot of adjustability so it will take some trial and error on your part, but you can dial it in for the ultimate in comfort for any trail.
As far as the turning being stiff - never heard that before. All but the newest DS's have too sensitive steering, but the caster angle has been changed in the Baja to tame it. They turn very easy, and the only complaint is they turn too easy, but not at all stiff or hard.
All you have to do is sit on it, and you'll see how comfortable it is, unless you're very small, in which case it may intimidate you.
And no, its not too heavy. Its 70 pounds heavier than a Raptor, 80 pounds heavier than a 400EX, but jumps with the best of them due to the longest suspension travel in the history of factory quads.

I agree that the Ds has by far the best suspension around. It is the most comfortable and riding whoops at speed is actually fun now, well until I mess up and almost get thrown.
My only complaint is the lack of aftermarket for these. I know there is some, but bomb really needs to get more out there so that the aftermarket will catch up.
I really need more speed. And sometimes the bomb leaves me wishing for more.
Not trying to bash it, because I do love the machine, just venting a little.

If only they would shave some weight off the DS then it's be a great all around quad. Not that it isn't already but you can always improve on anything.

My scramblers are plush. They just roll through the woops no plrob. The ds is kinda rougher. I can ride my scramblers faster through rough terrain faster than i can ride my rapptor or ds. But the ds takes jumps better.
