first sport quad, HELP!
#1
Well so far, I have gone snowmobiling twice this year for a grand total of 68 KM, so I'm thinking about selling my sled and buying my first sport quad, in fact my first quad period. I have ridden mx motorcycles for years, and currently ride a cr 125, but I am no stranger to my dad's cr 500. I want a 2-stroke, 2wd sport quad. 250r, quadracer, quadzilla, banshee, maybe even a warrior. I ride trails, track, sand, mud, rocks, grass, snow, just about any terrain imaginable. I'm not real experianced on quads, but have ridden enough to know that i want something fast, not a big 4x4. What will I be able to find in the $2500-3000 range? I'm 6', 155lbs if it helps any. Thanks in advance.

Your best bet would be a Quadzilla in that price range. Where will you be riding actually. If its tight woods and trails, a quadracer or Honda 250 R would be nice. If its sand go for a Banshee or the quadzilla(although both can be taken into the woods, the quadzilla is pretty large). If you have another $1000 you could for sure get Banshee somewhere.

Guess I should have read your post closer. First choice would be a Banshee, then a quadzilla for you riding conditions. Again if you have the extra $$$, Id get the Banshee.

A little problem though, none of the above machines are gonna work well in snow or mud, and a warrior is a 4 stroke.

four50four,
I believe your best choice for the all around 2-stroke you are looking for would be the 250R our the quadracer 250. The Zilla might be to large for you to throw around, I ride one which I built myself and I love it. I am 230 pounds though and have had one since 87 so I know her pretty well. If you ride all of those different types of terrain like I do the you will need two sets of tires. One for dry days and trail ridding like some holeshot XCT's, and one for mud and snow, I have had great luck with the mud machine tires. In fact we have a seriuos mud hole where i live and My Zilla with the mud machine tires is the only quad in our group to make it through, Not even my buddies four by made it. Have fun on what ever you buy.
