Honda 300EX Reverse Fix
#1
I Heard that a 300 EX could be fixed to where you can shift it into reverse without using the clutch/reverse/parking brake lever. I seam to recall seeing this before but cannot remember where. Any info would be greatly appreciated. However I do have a good idea for a neat set up. Use a CR450F clutch/comp.realse lever and perch.
Thanks,
Mark

If you still want to activate the reverse lock out, the CRF perch/lever idea of yours would be a great one.
If you just want to by pass that step all togeher you can engage the lock out at the engine and just use a small bracket to the old cable mount to keep it engaged at all times. OR you can just tighten the cable at the handlebars to keep it engaged. By doing this you only need to be in nuetral and pull the reverse rod on the side of the motor as usual.
There have been alot of other reverse tips on these forums to make it easier to use the reverse other than the most common that I mentioned above. Use the search feature and track them down.

If you ever happen to have the cases open there's a small locking lever inside the case, cut it off with a dremal cut off(remove the spring on it)and it's good to go. The ES models(read ute's) also have an electric switch to determine if the lever is pulled in, the wire to the switch would need to be grounded for the ES models to shift straight into reverse.

Why doesnt the 300ex have the same reverse system as the 300 and formans?
pull in clutch, push red button and shift down, this can be acheived in like a second, and its very easy.
and most important question thats bugging 400ex riders is WHY didnt they think of putting on reverse?! if they did, i would want it to be like the 300.
