Can the Xpedition be modified to start in gear. It can probably be done but how? has anyone else done this thanks.

 

i have a 2001 expedition 425 and just love it and YES you can start it in gear just hold the brake lever in and turn the key

 

Hmmmm... My 2000 Xpedition has to be in neutral to start....

 

have you tried it ???? all what i do is hold in the brake lever turn the key and it starts

 

Yep,
Hold the brake lever in, hit starter button. Nothing. Shift to neutral...hit start fires right up. So I take that as it has to be in Neutral to start. Maybe they changed the 2001's ?

Yes it can be done, and it is very easy. You dont even have to cut any wires, but I did it so long ago I dont remember off hand what I did. I'll take a look at my bike when I get off work today. There is also an easy mod to get 4x4 in reverse without having to press the override button if your interested.

I took the Xpedition out for my first ride last Saturday. I have 26 in Goodyear Mudrunners on it. I love the machine. Never had a manual machine before. Has its advantages. Get it to start in gear and I will be happy. Thanks again

Yep the 2001 will start in gear but my 2000 Xpedition won't thats why I asked if it could be done. Thanks
