WE ARE HEADING TO THE DUNES SOON, AND WAS THINKING ON SAND PADDLES FOR OUR DAUGHTERS KASEA 90 CC. DO THEY MAKE THEM FOR MINI-QUADS AND IF SO WHAT KIND DO I NEED?

 

My experience with little bikes has been that they tend to dig holes even with paddles. I think it is because their tires are so small (even though the weight of the bike isn't that much).

What is the rim size and bolt pattern?? Call some place like Chaparral (1-800-841-2960). Talk to the tire dept (NOT the catalog dept). They are in dune country, and the tire guys usually know their stuff.

 

I ran paddles on my son's LT80 years ago, and they worked fine. I believe they had 4 paddles on them.

Ordered a set of 6 paddle 18/8.5 for my boys lt 80 today from rocky mountain. That is all that they offer for the little guys. 161.00 shipped to my house. They are mounted on .125

 

In stock format, the factory tires are just fine --- save your money. If you start building, the 6 paddle 18x8.5 work fine and they don't dig holes. They are the same tires some people use on Blasters. Your bolt pattern on the rear is 4x100. The rim that works with the paddles is a 4x100 8" rim that is 8" wide used on Blasters.

Before you hit the sand, do the following:

1. Make sure your axle nut is tight! I add electric tape over the nuts just to make sure.
2. If you are running stock tires, reduce air pressure in the rear to 3-4 pounds and 5 in the front.
3. If you have not yet removed the restrictor in the carb do it now. Also add a K&N RU020 Air Filter with an Outterwear. With the air cleaner change and restrictor removed, you will need to drill the main jet to .034-.035"
4. Drain your gear oil and replace it with 140wt gear oil -- I prefer Lucas brand available at truck stops.
5. Change out the stock BP7HS spark plug. Install a B8HS.
6. Make sure the clean out bolt on the stock exhaust is especially tight.
7. Make sure to grease the front zerk fittings every day you are in the sand.

about 5 of 6 years ago i had either 5 or 6 paddle gliders on my mid 80's yamaha yfm80 moto-4 its been a while but from memories they seemed to work pretty well.....it didnt bog down BUT if your mini is an aoutmatic( mine was an auto cluch 4 speed) you might want to find out if you can get smaller or less paddles i think the only company that makes paddles that are customizable is skat-track

WE talked to a couple of people that have mini-quads, of all things they suggested was shredders? yes, she does have an automatic,and she is so light weight(50lb) Im beginning to wonder if she will need paddles at all.I will check into your suggestion though, I am actually waiting for an email from Skat Trak , ill ask them about it.again... In loose sand the paddles can't be beat. On wet or harder packed stuff turf tamers work well...............

 

So you think shredders would be a bad choice? There just isnt much for choices in paddles for a mini-quad.The shredders we were going to size down a size. WE are still lookin for a reply from a few places(skat trak in one of them)but no replys yet.Thanks for your input.

 

Hey 14 min.~ We got a reply from Rocky Mountain, They werent sure what to recommend either.But, if I do go with paddles.I think we will go with the same size as you did.
